SFTP statement ingestion
SFTP ingestion lets your team (or a carrier) drop statement files into a secure folder and have CommissionSight ingest them automatically — no manual uploads. It’s an enterprise feature, turned on per account.
Connecting
Once it’s enabled, open Files → SFTP ingestion in the app to see your connection details — host, port, and username. Add your SSH public key there to authenticate (key-based, so there’s no password to manage). Then upload statements to your folder with any SFTP client.
How files are routed
You set up simple mapping rules so each file goes to the right place. A rule matches a file-name pattern and points it at a carrier (and, if you use workspaces, a workspace). The statement period is read from the file name, so name files consistently — for example:
aetna_2026-03.csv→ carrier Aetna, period March 2026uhc_202601.xlsx→ carrier UHC, period January 2026
(The exact patterns are configurable; your CommissionSight contact can set these up with you.)
Files are never guessed
If a file’s period can’t be determined from its name — or it doesn’t match any rule, or the carrier isn’t recognized — it’s left unprocessed and set aside for review rather than ingested with a guessed period. You’ll see it flagged so you can rename and re-drop it.
Automatic ingestion
Dropped files are picked up automatically (within a few minutes) and turned into the same scored results as a manual upload. You can also click Scan inbox now in the app to pick them up immediately. Re-dropping the same file is safe — it won’t be ingested twice.
In the app
When enabled, an SFTP ingestion card appears on the Files page with your connection details, the SSH-key field, your mapping rules, a Scan inbox now button, and a list of recent files with their status (ingested / unprocessed / skipped).
Turning it on
It’s off by default. Contact CommissionSight to enable SFTP ingestion for your account and we’ll set up your folder, connection details, and mapping rules with you.
