The web app — tour & navigation

The CommissionSight web app lives at app.commissionsight.com. It’s the point-and-click way to do everything the API does: upload carrier statements, see what changed, find money carriers owe you, and investigate any member or policy. This section explains every page, widget, grid, and term.

Signing in

CommissionSight uses passwordless one-time codes — there’s no password to remember.

  1. Register (/register): enter your brokerage Account name and Work email, then Create account. New accounts are pending approval — we email you the moment the CommissionSight team activates your account.
  2. Sign in (/login): enter your email, we send a 6-digit code, you enter it. The session lasts until you sign out.

The navigation bar

Across the top of every page:

Nav itemWhat it’s for
DashboardYour book at a glance — recoverable dollars, at-risk dollars, status mix, trends.
FilesUpload carrier statements and manage stored files.
JobsEvery ingest run, its status, and a link to its results grid.
CompareCompare any two periods (month-over-month, quarter, year) across any carrier.
AuditCommission owed, at-risk, and chargebacks summed across a date range — month by month and per carrier. The recoverable total to take to a carrier audit.
ChargebacksEvery clawback (negative commission) for a period, with its original payout.
RatesTell us your contracted rates so we can compute commission owed.
Ask AIAsk questions about your book in plain English.

The account menu (top-right avatar) has Rates, Profile & billing, a light/dark mode toggle, and Sign out. Profile & billing is also where you manage your team (invite/remove teammates) and review the activity log (the account audit trail).

Two more pages have no nav entry — you reach them by clicking a record:

  • Member detail (/members/:id) and Policy detail (/policies/:id) — the full audit journey of one member or policy. See Members & policies.

Two filters scope almost everything

Most pages share two controls, usually in the top-right:

  • Carrier — narrow to a single carrier, or All carriers.
  • Period — a month/year picker. Where it matters, leaving it blank means the latest period that has data.

A period is always a calendar month, written YYYY-MM (e.g. 2026-01). All of CommissionSight’s intelligence is month-over-month: each period is scored against the one before it.

Where to go next

  • New here? Start on the Dashboard to read your book.
  • Loading data? See Files & jobs.
  • Investigating fallout or a single member? See Compare & investigate.
  • Reconciling a whole stretch of months for a carrier audit? The Audit page sums owed, at-risk, and chargebacks across any date range — read it alongside its owed coverage (how much of the book the owed figure is based on).
  • Unsure what a color or flag means? The Glossary defines every term.
